How hard is to change out the top of the dash in our trucks? I have about a 2" crack that starts where the driver side defrost vent is and runs up to the windshield. You hardly notice it. Should I let the dealer fix it or leave it alone? I don't want them ripping up my whole truck for a little crack. I still have two months worth of warrenty left.

Thanks

Curt :)

I would let the dealer foot the bill. The gas tech can do the dash, The dash does not contain diesel fuel.

The dealer might tell you it is a maintenace item and not cover it. He might void the warranty too.

The dash is a pricey piece!!! One local dealer quoted me $540 for the upper dash ... ... OUCH and you must paint to match. Hope they fix yours under warranty. I'm looking for one ...

Look in your yellow pages. I had a neighbor that repaired dashes and seats. Worked on alot of highpriced cars. (MB etc. ) But you can find someone in your area that can fix it reasonable. I watched him work several times. When he got through, you had to look close to see the repair

The crack is so small you can barely see it now. I've been to the dealer so many times for warrenty work I'm sure they are sick of seeing my truck and me.

So far I've had two track bars replaced. The weather stripping around the drivers door. The weather seal inside the drivers door. Steering Gear box, Ball joints, tie rod ends. New glove box. Now I have a shimmy in the front end which is driving me nuts. Might as well see if they will do the dash while I have my truck down there.

Thanks for your advise

Curt
