Installed vp-44 today, overtightened test port for gauge hose, leaking to much fuel to drive. Does anybody have a filter head available for my 98. 5?

It's the first year of the 24Valve,I believe 98. 5 and 99 are the only two years that use that style of filter,The truck is presently in Downey CA,If anybody is in this area and has this part let me know. THANKS W:BRAICO

I do not have a top but like C Mills said he used JB weld ,or you could use gas tank epoxy from auto store comes in a stick you need to a uniform color ,out side is one color in side different ,clean dry top apply after ruffing up surf-ice to help hold in place ,you could mold to the frame stiffener of the cover or around the fitting boss to help hold just don't plug the hole or interfear with the plug. Should hold for life of the filter assembly . Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville KY.

Does anyone know if this flter head or housing is available from Cummins or is this a D/C only part? If it can only be had from the dealer, it sounds like it worth fixing the one you have Walt.

Craig:I've had a couple of replys for a filter housing 99s and 2000s,I may switch over to a 2000 and later style if I can get the piping to,that style has the drop in filter element, which may be easier to maintain. As long as it will bolt up to and plug in to my 98. 5 harness. Walt
