cracked mirror

I was cleaning my driver side mirror a couple of days ago and the mirror cracked (hair line crack). Has this happened to anyone else?



I called the dealer and they will be replacing it Monday. They said they have never replaced one before (I find that hard to believe). I will post on Monday to tell you what was the end result.

Yep, ... . passenger mirror cracked right down the middle. Replaced under warranty.

My driver side mirror cracked too. I haven't talked to my dealer. Figured they wouldn't cover. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Mine lost a chip right out of one upper left corner on the driver's side. It was power heated. It was replaced under warranty.

Went to my dealer today and they will replace the mirror, no questions asked. Isn't the first one they have seen. Apparently it's a compression fracture. Anyway, I'd have never thought it would be covered by warranty. Thanks to TDR, I saved myself a few bucks

Tim, I have a crack in my passenger side mirror. I noticed it about 8 months before I could actually feel it on the glass. I thought it was from moving the remote too far with the CIBA adaptors installed. I found another set and went to pick them up and the same side was cracked on the other set also,(he also was using the CIBA adaptors). Maybe there is more to it than I thought. ???

The only problem I have had with the mirrors is... the wide angle insert on the passenger mirror fell off... it was only held by double sided tape ?? The dealer replaced the whole mirror without any problems. . but I would think they could think of a better way to mount it. . I have the factory fold out towing mirrors.





O1, quad cab, long bed, 4x4, A/T, line x bedliner, Delta diamond cargo box, Smitty built nerf bars. Tran. temp, boost, and pyrometer mounted on the pillar. Tow a Komfort 24ft 5th wheel with slide which weighs around 7500 lbs.

Last sunday I hit a roadrunner at about 60 mph right on the passenger side mirror. Housing never even wiggled, blew the lens completey out of the housing though and was still attached by the defrost wiring. It beat the crab out of the side of the door and put some small dents and alot of black marks on the door before it fell off just as I came to a stop. Of course it broke when it hit the ground. $40. 81 out of my wallet.....
