Cracked out steering gear box mount on frame

Has any body done one or better yet know of a company that makes a frame

repair kit like on the 80's GM stuff ????????

What year model truck?

If you go to your user control panel you can set up a signature and it would help us. All the truck info would be in your first post. To set up a signature go to the button at the top of the page (discussion forums) click on it. Then scroll down to user control panel. In the control panel click on the edit signature link to the left side of the page. Then just type in the truck spec's.



You might also want to put the state you live in. Most likely there is someone close that could help.

Don`t know if it`ll fit a Dodge but Off Road Design has kits for this problem but it`s for a chevy. Also this guy over on Ramcharger Central did his own repairs, pretty sweet if ya ask me!

cracked frame info

My truck is a 1992 4x4 ,



The only shop that has done one was Six States in Portland ,Ore



I called the shop in Co. they only have GM fix and i read the thread on

Ram charger site they used the 70's style box ,of which i could do but there prone to leakage ,bad idea if you like to stop !!!!!!!!!!



Six States wants $500. 00 to fix ,if i do that I just as well find a Blown up

Power joke power crew cab 4x4 and transplant my Cummins to that truck

Your to far out for me to be of help. I work in a welding/fab shop.



I did a steering box mount replace on a 78 $X$ chevy a few years ago. I just replaced the whole end of the frame on the steering box side.

yup i dont think my emergency assist fix would work ,i used a motor cycle tie down to help secure the front of the gear box and limpted it 70 miles home at 40mph

Check around and see if you have any fab shops in your area. Also check a heavy truck shop and see who they send frame stretch jobs to. That type of shop can do a frame section.
