i say it was too much torgue but i dont know what did it however i seem to have put a hairline fracture along the left side of my tail housing. this is an nv4500 5spd 4x4. the last few weeks its been puking fluid and i couldnt find the problem. i figured it was a seal so tonight i started tearing into it trying to get to the seals. well i had a good close look at the side that was leaking while i did this and i noticed a crack running diagonaly starting near the top and almost full forward and running almost all the way down and almost all the way back. now i know i need a new tail housing but what can i do to band aid it for a while. i was thinking jb weld inside and out. would it work? reason why is i need this truck daily. i put a 1000 miles a week on it. and 2 i cant afford to put a new housing right now(could barley afford the 100 dollars the dealership charged me for the seals i thought i would need) so im left w/ jb weld silicone or some other quick fix. whats the best thing i can do right now. i only really need it to hold for 6 weeks then i can take it offline for a couple of days but untill then i dont wanna be filling the darn thing everynight w/ gear oil. anyways any advice is welcome and thanks in advanced
