Has anyone had several cracked windshields? The original glass lasted more than 5 years and over 172k miles. I have had to install two more in 4 months?! OEM did have a rock chip, but the replacements did not?? Thanks, Rick

The earlier second gen trucks had problems with chassis twisting, that caused windshields to crack, I believe. I've also seen pictures of stress cracks in the cowl in earlier trucks. Maybe you should take a good look at your cowl. If it's got cracks, it could be allowing the windshield to flex too, hence the crack.

Welcome to the TDR, by the way.

I'm on windshield #3. Both of the previous took rock hits on the glass over the a-pillar and went real fast (hours). The hits being where they were could not be seen from inside the truck.

Hi,

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look at the frame and such. I do do a lot of off roading and the OEM glass never cracked since 1995 until a small rock made a chip out in Sept. But the next two replacment glasses from different shops, just cracked for no apparent reason in a few months time.

Thanks, Rick
