My 2006 Mega Cab 2500 driver's side window just started cracking while I was cruising on the Interstate yesterday. It has now run from the bottom of window up 10 inches took a sharp left turn and now has run all the way to the door post... very strange. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this happening?

My dealer is great and will order a replacement on Monday.

PAwtry,

Haven't heard of that happening. I have an '06 too. The glass in all the side windows is laminate (new in '06). Should be great stuff. See my post I made on Tomey's thread about someone stealing his fancy stereo. Someone tried to get mine, but it took them way too long to get through the laminate glass. By the time they made a hole in it, someone came out of the hotel and scared them away.

BTW if anything ever happens to your side rear windows, and you are not working with a dealer on the repair, make sure they understand "Mega Cab. "

I stayed an extra night in Nashville because they sent the rear glass for a quad cab (a mobile glass co. ).

Thanks for your reply. Being laminated makes me think it may not fall out while I await for my new window to arrive.

I just got my 06 QC Dually a week ago. Yesterday when I came out of the store I noticed my front passenger window has four cracks from the bottom up. The were getting bigger pretty quick yesterday, but haven't grown today. It seems to me like the window mounting hardware was too tight or something. The problem is that I am 90 miles away from the nearest dealer and can't get my truck there until next weekend. Hopefully it'll stay together that long.

On another note, my check engine light came on this morning. Anyone know if there is a way to read codes without a code reader -- like my '02?

I just got mine replaced Friday for the same reason!!! Started at the bottom and moved back. Mine is a mega cab too. Hummmmmm Same window too!

A couple of months ago it was Mega Cab rear door windows, they thought because of glass handling in the plant. They said they were keeping an eye on the front glass to see if it had the same issue. Looks like it is the same thing.

Just got back from the dealer, air bubbles in the glass by the tracks is where it cracked, looks like a vendor problem

Within the first month of owning mine, the rear driver window cracked horizonatally. It looked like a rock may have chipped it, but I didn't hear it happen and it is in a very odd spot to be hit by a rock. I had it replaced under insurance.

I know when I installed tint, the tech stated that he couldn't go too thick or the tint itself may cause the laminated window to crack.
