cracking sound from cowl

When i'm driving i'm hearing a cracking sound from the dash or cowl any ideas on what this is?

John there is a TSB on this problem(23-63-94). Its listed in TDR issue 14. There is a stamped plate that is fitted at the base of the A-pillar. The cracks are drilled at each end and the plate is attached using rivets and a 3M adhesive.

I've done the repair and it is a pain. But worthwhile in all aspects. The crack has not come back since.

Hey John!

Please do a search for "Cowl Crack" before ordering the parts. I found that Chrysler has a part number mix up in their parts warehouse when I ordered the TSB part numbers. Both p/n's were for the right side and Dodge could not get the correct left side part to match the left side part number just 3 months ago.

"Gene H" had provided the correct p/n's in his informative post.

This seems to be more of a problem with the 4x4's.
It is a lot of work to put the plates on but it will fix the noise.
