I was changing the oil in my truck the other day and I noticed that I have slight cracks on the ears of my exhaust manifold at the first two cylinders. Is there any need to just out and buy an ATS manifold real quick, or will it be alright for a while?

I would get one ready. It could go a while or it could go tomorrow. Just watch for signs of exhaust leak around the ports. that will be the sign of time for ats.

You can have it welded, but that probably won't last long. If you haven't noticed a increase in egts... . you should be ok for a while. Look at the High Tech manifolds... they are cheaper & real nice units. www.htturbo.com

When I noticed mine was cracked it was just as good as any reason to go for the ATS. You sould be OK for a while, but plan on going for an aftermarket - don't even think of wasting your $$$ on another stock one or used.

When the time comes, Ill definitely go with a 3 piece manifold. Don't have a pyro yet, so I can't check egts. I haven't noticed any soot around the cracks, so I don't think it's leaking any.

Think of it as a early warning sign to get some pennies stashed away. ;)

When you go with an aftermarket ATS manifold make sure it is predrilled for the EGT probe. From what I've read some ATS manifolds aren't; however, mine was.
