Is it essential that you replace the front crank seal when you're doing the KDP fix or can I leave the old one in the front cover if I'm careful? I was just about to dig into my '94 when I discovered I've lost the crank seal that came with the TST kit. I was really hoping to get to this today, as it will be my last chance for a while. Any suggestions?

It's not a necessity if it's not leaking. Do you still have the little plastic installation guide to help you back on without damaging the seal? If so I'd use it. Just be careful! You may be going back in there NEXT weekend.

Thanks guys. Even though reading through the KDP posts last night gave me the fear, I'm just going to wait until I have a new front seal before I do the KDP. I'd hate to get it put all back together just to have to go back and do it all again just to replace the seal.
