Turbo kit for Honda Accord

Unloading friends Home oil tank

My buddies work truck is an F450 with a PS. He said it looks like the motor is getting caked with oil grime similar to how ours do when the breather bottle is left in the stock position. Does anyone know if they have something similar to our Cummins that can be rerouted? Thanks in advance.

I have a friend with a similar problem on his 2002 f-350. It was coated with oil that he thought came from the PS pump. The dealer told him it was from blow by in the crank case. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet to see. Iwill take a look at it sometime to find out.

Yes Joe, the PSD does route crankcase vapors into the intercooler... The breather is located on the driver's side valve cover, and is plumbed right into the intake system BEFORE the turbo. I've pulled intercoolers out of these trucks and dumped oil out of them... It's hideous. The solution? Flip the breather assembly around 180° so the hose connection is pointing backwards. Route a 3/4" silicone hose under the truck, and there's your brand new draft tube! Use a plug to seal the intake system so no debris gets into the turbo.

Oily vapors in the intake air causes a lot of problems... For one, it eats away the seals between the intake manifolds and the heads. Plus, it actually hurts the efficiency of the engine because it raises the intake temperature. This applies mostly to non-intercooled models.

Now the PSD (6L) has EGR. Combine EGR with crankcase vapors in the intake and you get one big, sticky MESS. Yuck. What's Ford thinking??? The T444E in ALL other applications does not have the breather in the intake...

Crank vent on PSD

I'm pretty sure the neighbors 99 F250 PSD routes the vent from the valve cover to the dirty side of the air cleaner. He has to replace the air filter every 15k.
