Is there anybody that makes a crankcase vent relocation kit for a 2001? I am sick of all the oil over the front of the engine:(

I too, hated the mess on the front of the engine. I spent about $1. 50 and got a barbed hose connector and about a foot of hose to extend it straight down to the stabilizer bar. I then took a ty-wrap and secured the pill bottle to it.

Now, no more mess on the front of the engine and all I do is give things a wipe down with a shop rag at each oil change. And, it's got to make at least ten more horses now.

I ran mine cleen to the skid plate and had it dump into the framerail. I scince cut that out and run it to the skid plate. It hugs the trans cooler lines and along the oil pan so it won't freeze in the winter.

hmmmm, looked under my hood a couple years ago and saw that the breather tube bottle fell off and the hose grew about 18 inches. wonder how that happened?;)

crankcase hose/cannister

At 42,000 I thought this cannister might need attention for the first time. It had 1/8 inch of oil residue in the bottom. (The manual says to check/clean the cannister every oil change. ) There was considerably more crud on the outside to the point of plugging some of the holes and making a big mess. This is a mickey mouse appendage that makes a mess of a really good engine. My 91. 5 had a hose venting to the atmosphere and it worked just fine. At the rate of 1/8 inch oil residue for every 40,000 miles, it would take about 1 million miles to fill the cannister.
