Hello, I just drove home a 2002 24v and was wondering what's the cure to stopping the oil mist coming out of the crankcase vent can, it's all over the trans cooler lines and front of engine/oil pan. Tom

Do a search on this subject. You can reroute the tube yourself. Or, both Chrysler and Cummins have a kit $$$ that deals with this. Or, there is a member on here that gave instructions on how to move it to the rear of the valve cover, don't remember who off the top of my head.

I bought a 3/4" barb to barb connector, and a couple feet of 3/4" heater hose. yank that bottle off and stick the barb connector in the hose that used to goto the bottle. Then zip tie the hose in a couple spots... i'm pretty sure one of them is the drag link. And poof... no more oil on the engine. Yeah there's a big black tube hanging down, but no more mess. Works for me.

Dan, rhickman, Thanks for the replies. I talked to Doge today and was told the bottom cannister needs service about 25m miles as it fills up then blows out creating the oily mess. Remove, empty, clean in parts washer and re-install. My 89 was an open pipe arrangement and never had this problem, no service, just a road pipe as in the old days. Thanks again. Tom

is that where my "oil leak" is comming from? oil all over my oil pan and i cant ever find out where it is from.
