Would like to see around 45 psi I am seeing 38psi right now. Can I add a boost fooler or do I need to mess with the wastegate?

Thanks,

Sean

You need to mess with the wastegate. I believe you need to extend the rod. I think 2. 5 turns is like 5 psi. I am not sure and I don't have one in front of me to check.

I was told I need to ? put in better seals? (someone might know what I'm talking about) otherwise I would blow the head gasket, if I cranked the boost too high. I have my HTB2 cranked to about 38. I'm afraid to crank it up anymore. . . (the boost)

Thats kind of strange. We have similar setups and mine hit 52# right outa the box. Scared me at first because I wasn't expecting it. The most I ever saw with the stock turbo was 35#.

Make sure your actually fueling enough to get that kind of boost. Are you getting a good haze at WOT? No amount of diddling with the waste gate will get you there if your not fueling hard. Just some idea's.

Sorry,

I spaced it, long day, bad month. I haven't even looked at my turbo for over a month. Like the said what you are doing is increasing spring tension. If you want to try to set it on a bench just remember that it will pop open sooner on the truck, since you have exhaust gasses pushing on the wastegate valves. I set mine for about 55 psi if I recall and it actually opens about 48.

I think you can go up to near 50 psi before you get into head gasket troubles.
