Can somebody give me a quick description of what these various mods do? I've looked through lots of threads, but I still don't totally understand their function...

1. Governer spring kit

2. AFC spring kit

3. Moving AFC housing forwared

Thanks,

The PDR Governor Spring Kit is a special combination of Bosch springs and Piers' unique design on seats. The GSK is designed to allow your pump to rev past factory settings without compromising pump safety. 3000RPM and 4000RPM kits available. 4000RPM kits required use of heavy duty valve springs. Fits 1994-1998 12V Cummins diesels.

2. The TST AFC Spring Kit allows you to achieve a good compromise of minimal smoke under acceleration with responsiveness. It includes medium and light AFC springs for the P7100 pump, Allen screws, Allen wrenches, and break-off screws. Instructions are included, of course. The kit goes into the same AFC housing that is removed to install the TST Power Kit. The AFC Spring Kit is recommended for 215 hp engines at any power level, for higher power kits in the other Ram diesels, and for engines with the 16 sq. cm. turbine housing.

3. Having the AFC housing slid rearward cut the fuel back. The foot on it blocks the governor lever from moving forward past it. The farther forward the lever can move, the more fuel the fuel injection pump can deliver.
