Some of the selections (and lack thereof) makes one wonder if the boards don't consist of drunken thumbless monkeys tossing darts over their shoulder at a moving board.

As an aside, a good buddy of mine used to call it (not being selected) "celebrating passover" as it took him 7 years of being board eligible before being selected.

As for me, I spent my first ten years getting into trouble and my last ten trying to live it down,,, I was a  young man,, oh well,, live and learn. It was a great experience for me and the friends you make in the Military are the ones who will "help you hide the bodies" !!!

Hats off to you Jim, keep up the good work bud! When I'm back at work Monday morning flying my cubicle :{ :{ I'll be thinking of those nifty pictures.

Back in '92 my co-pilot talked me into flying below the rim in an AH-64A. I was scared to death of an engine failure and having to try to explain the loss of a $17m helicopter to an accident board. Sure wish I had pictures.

Good luck with your promotion board. One theory I've heard is that the reason pictures are required in your file. One of the members of the board takes them to the top of the building and throws them over. Those landing face up get promoted. :-laf

I'd bet, that place as much as I love it gives me the creeps, probably because of the depth.

Below the rim on a 46... . sweating it! Hope you'll didn't get a chip light!

There are a few things about the E-6, it's over powered and forgiving!

I've got one of those tapes from a plane during the Gulf War (91' version) were they were flying low and Iraqs' fired Sams at them, they jammed the signals and the Sams flew right back in to the ground!
