Seems quieter and the tech didn't know what the difference was before the swap and I didn't get to talk to him after, so I was wondering if it was the same shortblock as the ETC or if they ordered a ETH block. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to have the lower compression SB would help when boost approaches 50psi...

Jared

You're on the right track. If you are heading for high boost levels, the lower compression ratio is a good, good thing. That said, the difference of 0. 3 points of compression is not that significant, but it IS a step in the right direction.

Yeah, it's the pistons, among other things, that make the HO. Don't worry about the block, you came out ahead.

I have Arias Forged Race Pistons, my truck is deceivingly quiet until you stomp on it.

It also has a 'Hohn' muffler on it, which don't help none, it's probably the quietest diesel at idle on Earth.

Gee thanks, Justin. :D Man I hate my exhaust. :-laf

Yeah. I was reading a thread you replied to (Lord don't make me dig it up) and you mentioned something about how a piece of 5" pipe on a 4" exhaust would make a good resonator.

Well, it don't make a good resonator, it makes a GREAT muffler! If you want to get rid of exhaust drone, by all means, go with the 'Hohn Muffler'!

My neighbors love you, Justin!

"Brian, your truck sounds great!" (I don't hear nothin') "Yeah, thanks. "
