Archived Crazy loss of ALL electrical

CRAZY PROBLEM!
Truck ran fine this morning and in fact 2 minutes prior it started just fine to pull it into the shop. I shut it off and hooked up an exhaust hose to run it awhile and warm it up so I could chase down a coolant leak and went to start it and CLICK .....like a starter issue. I tried it again and no click. Tried it again and no power to anything inside. Let it sit for 30 seconds or so while I cjecked fuses and opened the door again and had power to the cab lights and all instrument panel worked but again a single CLICK with a turn of the key.

Now I have no power to anything except my quadzilla gauge that turns off and on with the key like it's supposed but nothing else. I also have a weird and fairly rapid click click click under the dash that is connected to the door light switch. If I push it in or unplug it it goes away but so no power to anything.

I checked all the fuses and they are all good. Both batteries are good. I am getting no ground coming out of the PDC. I have 12v at the red wire coming in but when i check voltage across them both I get 0. The big black wire next to the red wire should be a ground, right? And I should have power there all the time, right?

This issue makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Pull the 140 amp main in the PDC and check with ohm meter. The click under the dash might be the timer control module. It is behind the knee bolster [left knee]. If no go I would disconnect the batts and pull the PDC to make sure all wires and connections are good. There was post here about connections getting loose and causing trouble.

The PDC was the trick. I pulled it out and cleaned the dirt out of the bottom tray and sprayed electronic cleaner all over the underside and that did the trick. I'm getting to the mileage and age of this thing that sometimes it feels like its falling apart.

My wife's 2014 Journey does this once in a while and just did it this morning. It's been in to the dealership four times over this, last time the replaced the battery, but still does it. if it sits for 4 or more days, it won't start. not all the sudden like yours though.

Glad you found problem, that is an easy fix. I feel your pain on the age of truck, mine is just as old. But can't see me getting new one DO NOT want egr def dep. or regen trouble. I drive a truck at work that has all that, and out 400k miles the EPA garbage has been the only problem.
