Hello all. My '04. 5's interior was absolutley noise free-until yesterday. It is a creak that sounds like it's coming from under the dash or from under the seat, and usually happens most when coming to a stop or while going over larger bumps. I think it might the drivers seat because when I lower it all the way ("premium" bench) it seems to stop. I usually have the front of the seat about 50% up and the back all down.

Is anyone else having any problems with rattles and creaks too?

BTW, I'm experiencing the seat foam (steel rail in the butt) going away too.

Thanks!

Wayne

Check the bolts that connect the front seat to the floor. If one or more aren't tight that can cause the creaking noise that you describe.

A good thing to look for if the creak is metallic is signs of rust. Whenever you get two pieces of ferrous metal creaking ruc]st will show up in short order.

I guess that's a good place to start-thanks. It almost sounds like a floorpan crack with the 2 edges snapping over one another. I'm almost afraid to look! I was hoping to hear about a bad seat mechanisim or something. :(
