Right now I'm credit-card-less and have been for a few weeks. I'm looking for something with some decent benefits, maybe some free airline mileage, internet safety, something along those lines.

I'm not too concerned about interest rates 'cause I pay 'em off every month. Doesn't matter if it's Visa or MasterCard but it needs a wide range of acceptance. I had a lot of trouble using the Discover card which is what I recently ditched.

Online management and bill-paying is preferred.

What do you guys like using?

I got me a Shell(get some taken off your bill every month when you pay it)and one of them Chase Freedom cards from Shell. We buy most of out diesel and gas at Shell:D

I get "offers" in the mail all the time. I usually rip them up.

I just bought my TT on a card. I was all geared up to do the dealer financing, then found this card in my drawer. It was there for 2 years and I had forgotten about it.

I called up and it was still active. They had a special no interest deal, so I bought the TT with it. :p

I think it was a world visa or something. Just started paying on the TT. :D

PS Oh yea, to answer the question... . any card that charges 0% and accepts transfers from other cards. :D

I'm happy with the REI VISA card which gives a 1% cash back every July (although they wouldn't let me put the Ram on it). Not sure of the interest rate because I pay it off as well.

I have a cabels's visa. Its goog for 1% back on all purchases, more at cabela's. They have also have online access. You can apply online if I am not mistaken. . www.cabelas.com look on the left hand column for Cabela's Gold Visa.

I use the ever elusive cash as my preferred choice. Haven't had a CC in over two years, and use my bank card to buy most everything

Morph.

Vaughn, I have a Visa from Inter-West Bank, you should have a branch in Tri-Cities. It has all the features you speak of and what I like best is that the only mail I get from them is the statement once a month. Other cards I've had were always sending offers disguised as the statement, forces you to open junk mail. You can even do it totally online if you wish.

Any with some credit left on it:D

I learned my lesson and ditched my credit cards too. Since I pay the whole thing at the end of the month anyway I just went to the Visa Debit card. Do all my bill paying online with Bank of America. Its free and easy for a lazy guy like me.

i have amex and visa. use the amex pretty much everwhere, unless i can't, then the visa goes in. amex charge is like 3. 9-4. 5% to the store where you purchased something, while mastercard/visa is only like 2. 0% so that's why some stores don't like the amex, but i get cash back at years end with amex; 1% right now, 2% if i can get the platinum version

I use a Camperworld

Visa they send coupons that can be used for campers world products. I also have an LL Beans which sends coupons and a American Express Costco membership card which has cash pay back . I pay em off at end of month they all give you some thing of a reward for use.

LOL RichB:D

I know it didn't work for you, but I still like Discover the best. I back it up with a Visa card, which we use primarily for resturants and fast food.

Amex and Costco co-branded card. . get 2% back from Amex for all purchases [including Costco] and Costco also pays 2% for their sales... then pay it off each month :D so cash ahead by up to 4% [for the combined Costco purchases... and both have max $ that apply for the rebates , but they are fairly high]

I have a Northwest Wordperks Visa. It used to be a good deal -- Every 10k was a free one-way ticket. (I built my house using it and had an envelope full of ticket vouchers) Now it's round trip only and there's blackout dates, limited seating, etc. I'm looking too.

I've a CC that's a Chase Freedom Pltinum Visa. They give a % off on all fuel and other purchases. I can't remember what %. I got ride of the one from Shell, because I only got the rebate when I purchased fuel from a Shell station and not from other stations.

Hassle free?

I have the hassle free Capital one platinum. It is a good card, but they still are always sending you checks to pay other cards or debts off with. They are good with fraud as they called one time after I made a purchase near Vegas with it.

The best card though is the one you cut up and throw in the trash. We pay ours off monthly, but believe me, it is easy to get into trouble with them. As soon as I get settled up in the hills my last card is going to be cut and put in the trash! If I need it, I will pay cash. :D

Chase card here

I have the Chase Freedom Platinum Mastercard and that's all I use. I believe they give you a 3% rebate off all gasoline purchases, and 1% off all other purchases. I've used it to buy gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation fuel, and I have gotten a 3% rebate on all of them. Oo. Oo. I pay my bill every month, so I don't remember(or care) what the interest rate is. I average about $20 a month in rebates using this card.
