I just came across an article in the Sept. , 04 issue of Popular Mechanics magazine, pg. 50, titled "Detroit Spy Report", has a camouflaged photo and states that the HD Ram for 2006 will be available with "four real crew cab doors rather than the smallish doors of the current Ram Quad Cab".

Good news for those wanting a bigger than big cab. :p Oo.

Just as long as they don't discontinue the present quad cab! My brother has a crew cab Chevy and my friend has a crew cab Ford. Neither one of them can make a U-turn or park anywhere with less than two spaces available. I'm quite happy with the "in-between a club cab and a crew cab" size of my quad cab! The old quad cab was too small and the other crew cabs are too big for my needs: the new quad cab is just right!

The shorter door is better in parking lots--I can open the back door without hitting the vehicle next to me. I'm happy with the current style. I still have room for adults in the back.

My vote is for the current quad cab, When you look at a ford or chevy long bed crew cab from the side, to me they look like a school bus ,in size. My QC DRW 4x4 looks just the right size to me. The turning radius is a big plus also

Another Quad cab vote

I agree with the Quad cab being a good compromise between the short EC's and the full size Crew Cabs. I'm a lifelong Chevy guy getting ready to buy an 05 Dodge 3500 and the Quad Cab is the second best thing Dodge is got going for it... . Guess what the first the first thing is?

I bet they will keep both options. I owned a crew cab Ford before and really loved the extra room and would have bought a crew cab Dodge if it was offered. You guys are right about the turning radius on the Dodge, it's nice being able to park wherever you want in one try. I love the Cummins which is why I bought another Dodge. I do like the current 4 door but I would like to have a little more room. Yesterday I had to drive 3 hours with my daughter kicking the back of the seat, it was kind of like a sporadic massage. I think a lot of people will buy the Ford and Chevy because of the real 4 door truck and the folks at Dodge can't be blind to that fact.

can someone post that article

i think if the truck is already that long what is a few more inches to make the dodge a viable option for people hauling adult clients as well as children i want a real crewcab dodge and i don't care if the thing is a limo as long as it is comfrontable i seen a few 2nd gen streched to crewcabs and they are just fine by my standards.
