Too bad your so far away. This one is around the corner from my work for $300.

Sent the info to a local guy that I think is gonna pick it up though. Look for another crew conversion project coming soon.

John -

While yer at it, check out the Cummins/Conversions column: Discussion Forums/Main Forum Directory/Cummins Diesel Conversions. There's a thread in there about [cummins - crew cab] that has a lot of other good stuff we've been yappin' about.

ebay listing

The url worked for me. The truck I have is about the condition of that and it has the motor and will load itself. And half the money. Mine isn't a dually. I noted that there have been no bids.

There are plenty of these truck around the country but as time goes on, there will be fewer that are worth the time and money of a conversion. Still, at the 1600 price he is asking and add a donor truck cost to that, you could have a ctd crew for under 4000. What you did to jazz it up would of course be extra. But say you go really big time, you will have a super truck for under 15 grand and four real doors and real leg room.

There is also some very good information on the borg warner trannys on the thread about allison conversion. Your truck will need a top notch transmission and from all I read, there are plenty of options with the after market add ons for the automatic OD trannys that came in the Cummins Dodges.

CrewCab Search

Hey John,

As some have mentioned, you can find the Crewcabs on ebay and I found my 85 2x4 long bed on http://www.traderonline.com a few months back, it was an old government truck.

It just depends on how much of a project your looking for. I'm not sure where you are located but I noticed that rust has been a big issue with the 70's models. Unless you are a paint and body guy than it's probably not a big deal.

I read somewhere that Dodge started galvanizing the sheet metal after assembly, but I can't remeber what years that covered, (maybe somebody else remembers) and I looked for the truck in that time frame.

Good luck with your search.

My dad has a 93 4x4 crew cab with a Cummins and a nv4500. Told me it has been titled as a crew cab since new. Maybe he would sell it?
