Well, the 61 front is installed and I dropped the crewcab off at the body shop again. Now, to get the divorced 205 ready to go in when it's painted.

It started as just getting repainted, then my wife wanted it to be a shortbox which I thought would be cool. Then, the body shop found the floor had never been painted and the B pillar wasn't even attached :{ so the body work was more extensive than I bargained for(go figure). New rockers, some new floor, 2 front doors and 2 box sides. And,after all that why keep it 2wd so we bought the 61 front end and now it's almost 4wd :D .

Anyway, I got this truck a couple years ago from a guy near Chicago. He said it had been in the TDR as a crewcab conversion story in '97 or '98. Is there a way I can find out which issue so I can try to find a copy of it?

I LOVE that hood 2 tone with the cummins logo on it. I plan on doing something similar to mine over about a 2 year time span. 2wd crew short bed.

Is that the same truck in all the pics? Can't quite tell if the one with the Cummins lettering on the hood is a crew?? I think we need more pics that show the full length etc!

Yep, it's the same truck. The painted pics are what it looked like when I bought it but I don't have too many pictures of it, sorry.

That's how it looked when Bayer Auto finished it I believe, I think that's how it looked in the TDR magazine article. Hopefully, the new paint job should be finished in about 2 weeks. It's going to be dark gray matallic with no chrome except door handles and mirrors and I may have those powder coated. The bumpers are going to be custom made and black. The wheels are alcoa 5 spoke forged.

What a super job you have done

That truck Is very nice looking. I know there has been a lot of hard work going In the project. I will give you A for that truck

The center picture is the current picture of the truck going to the body shop as a short bed 4x4. The other two are how it looked when I bought it as I believe it appeared in the magazine as a 2wd long box. Hopefully I'll have painted pics soon.

yeh, no kidding on the trailer length. Luckily the body shop is only 10 miles away. I don't have any air ride plans yet but it has crossed my mind, never saw one close-up to check it out. Plus, I'm not sure it's worth the $$.
