I've got a cross member from a '93 with a manual trans. Let me dig out of its hiding place and I will get back to you after work today. I might also have the 2 support braces - I will have to look.

When I saw the title of this thread I was a little afraid to read it... . :-laf

Thank goodness only a few of us are twisted.

You got to be crazy to take a perfecly good crew cab that had what appeared to have 90% rebilt frontend and cut it off ,to make a 4x4 . But hey its a green project im recyling LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

Im looking forward to what you find Bob your nice and close!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy Donovan,

Now I'm not 100 percent positive, but you may want to do a little frame fact researching. I was considering converting my D truck into a W and was told that after '89, the channel height of the frame was increased by 1 inch (making the section height of the frame taller). Not sure, but just wanted to toss that out there.

There is a guy on here that swaped 92 parts to a 86 and back again so it must fit and they dont look any diffrent on stuff i got except on the early 70s divorced t-case trucks

Well, I remember having read about different frame section heights here before. That's why (I was told) there was no 350 series Cummins truck in '89. I had encountered this warning when I wanted to convert my truck to 4x4. I was told to get the newer, taller frame instead of working on my '89 frame. I'm thinking it was the lightest duty of all the years. just tossing that out to anyone seeking a donor frame for welding on. Brackets and crsoss members may all be the same. Just don't have the facts in front of me right now.

... . but the 2x4s had the same cross section height? The '85 fit perfectly..... not saying there isn't a difference in the '89s. Definitely worth checking before torching it, I guess.

Im shure mouther Mopar did not reinvent the wheel when they built these trucks .

They were not like the brand x junk that scraped everything . But ill admit the crossmember i got from a guy on Ram central site isnot even close . I think its a slant 6 one or some thing . as my 76 dodge is the same as my 92 and my bros 84 ramcharger .

Well whom i got my info from is whom you posted the info from

JDancoe So Im on track i guess if i can find the parts I found a short box frame but may be a S. O. B to get it out were its at buried behind other stuff and its a all or nothing job but a bare frame and this is a 84 1/2 ton job , id like to find a cummins setup means my truck in a 84 1 ton !!!!!
