crown vic help

Wifes 2001 crown vic has had the speedo and odometer in and out of service for months. Now its not working at all. I took the dash apart and found its a electronic type with no old style cable to transmission. Tryed replacing the speed sensor in trans and still no work and no check engine lite?

Anyone know of a good crown vic site like T. D. R so i can get some info to troubleshoot this?

The best thing to do is to find someone, even a good mechanic if you have to pay for time, get a scan tool, and there will be a way to watch VSS (vehicle speed sensor). This is the PCM's output. If it's steady it might be the cluster, but if it's not, you likely have a bad connection or wiring problem, which is my bet.

I'm sure if you google, you'll find a good crown vic, or general ford site to look at.
