2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Cruise control and speedo won't work?

Hey guys, wondering if any of you had this happen and can help? I checked the gear in the transfer case, and everything looked fine. Can't figure out why both would go at once. I am going on a long trip and would like to get the cruise control working. Please help. Thanks, Andy
