The small braied wire that goes from the vacuum canister on the cruise control to the throttle linkage is about 1/2 way frayed through.

Most of the cable is sheathed in a plastic outer housing, but there's about a 6" exposed section right at the throttle linkage. It looks like the cable has become worn right where the exposed cable enters the black plastic sheathing as the throttle constantly moves forwards and backwards.

What to do?

Am I looking at an entire CC replacement or can just the cable itself be replaced?

Thanks

- Ben

OK, I give up, where's the Tech Forum? Am I missing something obvious cause of Sunday AM brain fade?

Thanks for the assistance.

Well the "Tech" forum is the Turbo Diesel Topics, 2nd Generation (1994 - 2002) > 2nd Generation Ram Forum (NO engine/transmission discussions AND Engine Drivetrain) Forums. This was in the accessories page which is no biggie , but I just wanted to get you to the area with most exposure for fixing problems.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum. My mistake.

Now that we're all here... . any thoughts or suggestions about my severely fraying thin wire Cruise Control cable?

Thanks

- Ben
