Hi,

Today I took my truck to a dealer in fairfield CA. I told them that my truck will overshoot setpoint by 15+ mph when I set my cruise control. After a few hours and $99, they told me this is what they suspect is wrong.

They believe that to much vacuum is being held? To fix it they want to replace the following:

4669977 Speed conrol servo $94. 40

52078323 vacuum harness $10. 36

56040219AC PCM $446. 25

Total bill to fix my cruise control with labor = $960. 00

They said that it is not covered under the 7year 70k mile warranty.

What could be wrong with my PCM???

Thanks,

Derek

Holy Crap!

You are having a different problem than I am but I read on here that this problem could be fixed by a "reflash" of the computer. I you do a search on the forums for "cruise", you'll find the answer you're looking for.

Dealers are very quick to start replacing parts... . especially expensive ones. What happens when that doesn't fix the problem? Do you pay them more money to replace something else.
