Need help with my cruise control, was working fine, then just quit :{ . I have replaced just about everything, with no luck(Cruice Servo, Brake Switch, Cruise Module, Vacum Pumps, Speedo transducer) I have power at the cruise module and read the steering wheel control switches at the module and brake switch too. This is a early 91 Cummins with cruise, used only on 90 and early 91 trucks.

Even though the clock spring checks out that still does not mean that its good. I have seen some that checked fine but were still bad they had a short or high resistance conection in them. Also there is a tsb for the servo I believe in the late 92 build date that you might check out it could be the servo also. It suck being without cruise!!

Kyle,

I believe, at least in a 92, the crank position/speed sensor must be operating properly for the cruise control to work. This sensor is where the tachometer gets its signal. The tachometer reading on my 92 intermittently jumped around all over the place. When this was happening the cruise control would not work. I found a spot on one of the wires near the sensor connector that had been rubbed to bare wire. This was touching ground and causing my problem. After repair the tachometer and cruise control work fine. Hope this helps.
