I finally convinced a guy I work with to buy a CTD. He picked it up last spring and has had all good things to say since. (03 2500 ETC 47re long box. ) Today he tells me his cruise control has stopped working. The "Cruise" light on the dash is on but it just doesn't work. Anyone heard of this? I have nothing but compliments about mine. Perhaps one day I'll be able to convince him of the power of TDR but one step at a time. TIA

I know it won't work if he tried to engage it above 85. I guess DC doesn't think we should be driving that fast:rolleyes:

I learned that this past Thanksgiving. I was trying to use the accelerate button to increment it up a bit, but it didn't work past 85. I was thinking I busted something. What a bummer. I only wanted to set it at 90! If anyone knows the hack for this, definitely post it.

Hey, I'm actually very proud of the fact that I once averaged 80MPH over 560 miles traveling from Missouri to Texas. I had rented a GMC Jimmy to head up for Christmas and was taking my two dogs--Yep, you could say I was in a Jimmy hauling dogs (sorry CW). It didn't seem that fast at the time, and I never felt that I was in danger, plus the traffic on I-35 was light (except for the dreaded toll plaza south of Wichita, KS. ).

Probably won't try that on my CTD, but in a rental car? Heck, yeah!

You poor East Coasters just can't relate to hundreds of miles of lonely desert roads and unlimited visibility :D

Criuse on nothing works past 80. Been that way for years. All makes. If yours hits 85 your lucky. 80 been the limit.

Works great at high speeds on our 2000 VW TDI.

Flew through Nevada last month with the cruise set at 82. no problems. Did notice a surge from the cruise at that speed. Could not see it on the speedo , but the boost guage would rise and fall from 10 to 15 psi on flat ground. wouldn't do it if I turned to cruise control off?

My 98. 5 did that & the pick up where they plug together in front of rear diff was loose. taped it together & never had any more trouble with it
