While driving down the road the cruise just cancels itself. Sometimes you can just hit resume and back it comes. Sometimes nothing, and it may take a while to get it to set or resume. Cruise light is on so I assume it always has power. This is on a 99 quad cab 5 speed truck. Any ideas or places to look?? TIA, Karl

try disconnecting your brake light switch. . (switch is to the right on the brake pedal, 4-5 wires in a white housing) if the switch is touchy, it can cancel cruise when you hit a bump or something. i thought i read there was an adjustment for that switch, but i dunno. . keep in mind you`ll have to turn off cruise with the wheel though. . also possible you have either a small vacuum leak around the cruise area (under the driver battery), or possibly a bad connection somewhere. .

good luck

I have had similar issues w/ my 97 auto. It also will accelerate beyond (way beyond) what I set it at. This only happens when the weather gets cold. Summer is fine. The dealer to me to reset the cruise. I was a PIA and never seemed to work well. I had to cruise at a constant speed and hold the set button for 15 seconds, then the off button. Lather, rinse, repeat. About 5 times. Never worked. Then they put in a new cruise part. Still does it til the truck warms up on cold days. Sorry I can't be of any help. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks
