2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Cruise Control Quit!

Hi:



The cruise control on my Y2K 2500 Quad Cab SLT+ 4x4 w/ 6-speed trans has quit.



The light on the dash turns on, but it will not work. I checked for fuses, can't find anything.



I did do a search, but my speedometer and other guages seem to be working fine, seems like it's something else...



Any ideas on what to check?

You might check your vacuum lines to see if they've split or come off. I replaced the leaking seal in vacuum pump over the weekend and the DVD with the seal kit said to check the vacuum lines if the cruise didn't work and the AC/Heat would only blow out the defrost openings.

My dad had the same exact thing in his 2K. It turned out that he would constantly move his steering wheel up and down to get into his truck, which in a very short time cause the wires in the steering column to actually fracture and come apart on him. Good luck on your repair.
