Cruise Control Ticks

I have an 04 305/555 truck with 84,500 miles on it. Every time I engage the cruise control, it makes a ticking sound for a few seconds. It seems to only do it when first engaged, but I have heard it a few times after being engaged for a few minutes.



Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

I'm just over 70K on my 04. I've never heard a ticking sound and I use my cruise control regularly. If it is a high pitch tick, I'd never hear it anyway, but a low pitch tick would be heard by my poor ears...
