I was driving home last night and noticed my cruise control would not turn on. THis is the first time it has done this to me since my clock spring was replaced years ago. I cycled the ignition for the codes and came up with 1597 along with the companion code. I looked up the DTC and said speed sensor too low. What does this mean and how do I fix the problem? I did a search on TDR last night and didn't find what I was looking for. Can anyone help me? I am wondering if this has anything to do with my ABS issue as well. Just when I was starting to get the truck in shape (DTT and RASP next week) it gives me this. :{ Not a major deal but frustrating all the same.

It may be the axle speed sensor, it usually sets the abs light though. It is located on the rear axle pumpkin on top. Try pulling it and cleaning. You can lightly sand with fine sand paper the pick up end to see if it helps. You won't damage it by doing this. Make sure you clean it throughly before replacing. High pressure air on the P-U end will work.
