Cruise Control

CRUISE CONTROL HASN'T WORKED SINCE I GOT THE TRUCK. i HAVE FACTORY MANUAL BUT HAVEN'T HAD THE TIME TO T/SHOOT BY THE NUMBERS YET. JUST THOUGHT i'D ASK IF THERE IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE THAT I SHOULD LOOK AT FIRST.

SPEEDO OPERATES OK. NO RESPONSE FROM BUTTONS AT ALL.

The switch's on the steering wheel are not the best ones made. Do your switch's have a firm feel to them when pushed? If they have a mushy feeling they are probably bad. You need a ohm meter/test light to test them.



Next thing to look at is under the hood. Behind the driver side hood hinge is a small switch with a vacuum line going into it. Check the vacuum line to see if it is broken or cracked. If it is this will stop the cruse from working. If vacuum line is good. Then check this switch to see if it is working. Also check to see how much vacuum pressure you have to the switch.

Have you checked the fuse yet? They are only about 2 or 3 amps!
