I have a problem with my cruise contol. Before I put an edge easy

on I could feel it surge and slow down-it doesnt effect the speed-

dometer. When I put the easy on I also put gauges on. I see the

boost going up and down about 4 lbs. Going down hill is the worst.

I think the easy made it worse, and it drives me bats.

Does any one else have this problem. Thank you--J. J.

Just a thought. Unhook batterys and let set bleed down for a mintue or two and then rehook and drive and set cruise. May relearn etc.

Since no one else has posted...

I have a '99 24 valve with the Edge EZ on it. When I first put it on, the cruise was agrovating to say the least. Surged really bad; applied too much throttle for acceleration and so on. I didn't use it for a while, but would try it every once in a while because it was so agrovating.

Then one day, I tried the cruise and it worked like it did when the truck was stock... great! My point is that the EZ alters fueling and as a result, the computers have to "re-learn" the correct fueling map and this takes a little time. Drive it a while and use the cruise control every once in a while. I think it will smooth out and you will end up happy. I did. :)

Thats why I mentioned bleeding out memory there also was a TSB or a footnote about cruise being confused a few years back and a procedure of set/cancel rest etc to get it to relearn and straighten out. But I'd try a disconnect and let it go through a relearn and see. Look in a shop manual I read the bit about the set/cancel/accel thing. Maybe in a 2nd generation factory repair manual?

Thanks guys,I will try the disconnecting batteries and see what

happens. Other than this little problem my truck is perfect. No

rattles-runs very smooth and alot better than my 95 3500. Just

hope I dont have the trans failures that my old truck had.

Thank you all--------J. J.
