I have an 03 HO 6 speed dually. When the cruise is engaged there is a very annoying buzz or rattle that comes from the gas pedal. A little pressure up or down on the pedal makes it go away. Dealer said he could not fix it. Any ideas for a solution?

There was a post some time ago about this, I believe the fix was to bend the tabs on the peddle that attach to the rod. just flare them a little.

If you have the adjustable pedals that might be the culprit. I know mine used to make a little annoying noise, I don't know if it quit, or I just got used to it after 54K mi. Seems like someone else mentioned this before.

On a long trip I often like the radio off, enjoy the sound of the engine, and think. This rattle eventualy makes my brain start to rattle. I guess there is too much empty space in there---my head that is.

mine does it too, VERY annoying! sounds similar to the rattle when the transmission is in neutral and clutch is not depressed.

... mee toooo..... no adjustable pedals here tho!..... it is annoying... took me a few minutes to figure it out... .

Mine does it too. They attempted to fix it once its not annoying now as it used to be. Have not looked at it to see what I can come up. Last thing I heard service rep said they were waiting for a TSB to come out on it to tell them how to fix it. Somebody said on here earlier that they had there pedal replaced.

It doesn't seem to be the petal itself. I seems more like harmonic vibration transmitted through the cable from the engine.

Fix for pedal rattle

I went to the dealer for the same problem and they put in a new pedal assemble, well that didn't fix it. I took a rubber mat and cut a 3/4 in. dia by 3/8 in. thick circle, then drilled a hole the size of the throttle cable in the center and cut a slit from the outside to the hole in the center. Then I pulled up on the pedal to give some play at the end of the cable. I put the rubber washer on the throttle cable between the pedal assembly and the metal disc on the end of the throttle cable using the slit in the rubber washer to get the cable to the hole in the center. That took care of the problem. I love paying 35K for a truck and having to fix it myself. Good luck with the fix.

Had this problem; took to dealer; they tightened the throttle cable; that didn't fix it; they replaced throttle cable; that fixed it.

Actually; this is giving me pause. it's all electronic; ... what throttle cable? I'm going to have to ask the dealer what they did to my truck to fix this!
