Cruise controlled high idle

I give up boys... I'm trying to get the cruise controlled high idle to work on my early 04 with manual transmission. I have the smarty loaded up with the 30 hp program (with timing) and I've grounded ECM pin #22 (in B connector (closest to rear of engine) second from the left, third one down). I cannot get the high idle to work. From what I understand, all smarty programs have the high idle program already in it.



I've searched older posts and now I'm not entirely sure if this feature works on the 03/early 04's. Can someone set me straight!?!?!?! Thanks

I think you found your answer. 03's and early 04's aren't capable of this to the best of my knowledge.

i have an 03 and my high idel works just fine that i am aware of. it has to be really cold out. like in the teens for it to work

No, I'm talking about the cruise controlled high idle that can be adjusted from 1100 RPM - 1500 RPM.

I understand the frustration. I asked my tech to "turn on" this feature. He consulted his DC computor and my Veh serial number told him that this feature was not available for my truck. Back to the snow scraper shoved on the gas pedal.

04'5 auto has the feature Just needs to be turned on.

Well, with these words of encouragement, I will try again. My dealer is 100 miles from my home so it will be spring before I have a chance to see them.

What have you done to enable this feature Bob? From my understanding, I do not need to have it "turned on" by the dealer, that that is only for the '04. 5 and newer pickups. Does the smarty have the correct programming to enable high idle on the 03's and early 04's?

I have access to drb & starscan so I have it easy... ..... The smarty program turns it on as long as the truck is capable(from my experience 04 and newer).

I was under the impression that on the early 3rd Gens it was only available with the auto trannies. Mine works great and when I took it in the service writer had to look for the feature in the computer. Took the tech 3 minutes (more or less).
