Cruise Just quits

Hi Folks



Got a 04 (305HP with APPS and throttle cable) acting really strange. NO Codes, and DRB says everything is fine. Light for cruise stays on after you turn it on but after about 30-1 min the speed just falls off, (cruise light still on) and you cannot resume or reset for at least 30mins. The APPS and The throttle controller (under battery) have both been replaced and it still does the same thing!, any ideas?

If the truck has an automatic transmission, I would check out the electric-powered vacuum pump. It's mounted on the passenger side inside fender, between the battery and firewall.

Also, if the cruise release plunger is out of adjustment at the brake pedal you will have this type of problem.

The easy way to test it... Use your toe under the brake pedal, hold the pedal up and see if it corrects the fault.
