Ok here it is, I am strolling down the highway at 73 mph or so and the cruise just quits, if I hit RESET it goes again, a few miles down the road same thing. I didn't hit any significant bumps or anything to jar the switches. What is the problem? Expensive steering wheel control switches? I didn't see the brake lights flash at all (it was dark out) so I don't think it's the brake light switch. This happened a few times a couple of months ago and then again this morning. This is a little better situation than my old 93 were when you hit a good sized bump the cruise would come on and it was usually on an off-ramp when you were slowing down. Scared the bejesus out of me the first time it happened

My Dad's 98. 5 has a similar problems, he got a reflash and it fixxed it righ up. There is also some "learning" feature to the cruise if I remember correctly. You might pull the neg battery cables over night and see what happens.

It's possible but I don't think it's the clockspring, that has been done on my truck. That threads points to the brake switch quite a bit though, maybe I'll adjust that a little and see what happens. Thanks so far guys

Does your CC run off vacuum? Maybe bad vacuum line but only under certain circumstances ie turning right, etc.
