Crunch in Front End?

I gotta take in my rig in the next day or so for first oil change and various fixit's. I have a noise in the front that doesn't sound right to me, but can't find anything wrong.



If the wheel is turned all the way left or right(but seems like mostly right) during a parking turn, etc. I get a CRUNCH noise from what sounds to me like somewhere near the shock. It is most noticeable if there is an uneven surface(bumps,etc. ) that I go over when the wheel is turned over. The 1500 I used to have never did this... . anybody else had this on the 2500?



I want to have an idea before Mr. 5 Star says it's normal.

Have you received your clockspring recall notice?

Have you done the normal and checked for rubbing? Just checking

If you are sitting still in the driveway and turn it all the way, is the noise still there? If not look towards steering links and suspension parts. I know these trucks have coil springs, but in a tortion bar set-up, they usually rattle. I changed the bushing a few time on my Chevy trying to fix this. Ended up being the A-arm bushing. Loosened where it connects to the frame when the truck was sitting at rest. Moved the truck back and forth a couple of time while suspention was still loose and tightened everything up.



On mine, the rubber bushings were tightened in the wrong place. The "memory" or rest position of the rubber was causing an unusual bind in the A-arm and making something pop. Don't know what was popping, but this worked. Do know if this applies, but I seen it a least once before.

I haven't received my recall notice, no I will read up on it.



I haven't had time to do any extensive troubleshooting... it doesn't seem to do it at rest, but when moving, wheel turned all the way over, and a bump occurs.
