Should have left it alone, but I didn't. Have 192000 miles on '96 3500 4X4, thought maybe I ought to drain and refill rear end oil. Refilled with SAE 80-90 GL 3-5 lube suitable for limited slip diff's, now it snaps and crunches when cornering. It was fine before. Any ideas? Thanks, Richard

Put some friction modifier in it. The limited slip oils have some in it, but not enough for a LSD that is fairly tight. Get the Mopar additive, put a half bottle in and drive some figure 8's. If it stops you are good to go, if not add some more and re-do the figure 8's. Keep adding until it stops. If the rear was fine when you drained it you will be fine when you get enough modifier in it.

When I changed to my MagHyTec Diff cover, Roy had me purchase 3 bottles of friction modifier. The MagHyTec holds 2x the normal Diff cover.

Get the stuff from the Dodge Stealers... ..... I got some friction modifier from NAPA and it did not work. Some things you just have to get the "real" stuff. Just added 4 oz today... ... .....
