Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Cruse Control

I'm really confused, monday on my way to work out of town, I hit I-5 and hit the cruse and it would not work, I check all the fuse's that I could find, and none of them are marked cruse, anyway I got to Roseburg and when I got off work, I started down the freeway and the trans would not shift into 4th. I was pretty confused, so I hit the cancel button and the truck shifted into 4th, and the next morning the cruse was working, anyone have a idea on what the heck is going on. Thank You. Jack

You might have been in limp mode. That happened to me the other day because the shifter was slightly off the detent I think. My check engine light (MIL) came on, but the next time I drove it it was fine. The MIL went off after a couple of days.

How fast were you going? Mine wont turn on below 30mph.
