Cryo Freezing metal parts.

How would this work on Turbos-Brake rotors-axles etc.



I know Power Slot has a Cryo rotor. Chime in boys, lets see some intel on this!

I have not messed with any cold parts LOL but I know the boys at South Bend Clutch have been messing around and freezing some parts you might want to give Peter a call I talked to him a little about it at IRP this year and Cryo frozen golf balls will go futher but wont help your game at all!!!!! I think that's going to depend on what specific material you are working with and what specifically you are trying to accomplish.

I had a cyro output shaft in my transmission that took many many 30 psi launchs at the strip and running around town until I put the new bully dog TM delete in and it didn't last but 1 time down the track. :--)

I haven't looked at cryogenic treatment in quite a while since I wrote a research paper on it while I was in school in the late 90's. I have seen some rather dramatic results in increasing wear resistance through cryo treatment. Dimensional stability is a big plus on certain materials too. There was a lot of talk about using it in racing applications and how engines that were torn down after a race showed much less wear from engines that didn't have the treatment.
