New Tax Credits

The federal government has acknowledged that both clean diesels and hybrids will help boost U. S. fuel efficiency by making the two technologies eligible for the same advanced-vehicle consumer tax credits. Beginning January 1, 2006, consumers who purchase new diesel-powered cars, light trucks and SUVs may be eligible for up to $3,400 in tax credits based on the weight, fuel efficiency rating and emissions level of the vehicle, as determined the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. The credit is available through December 31, 2010.

I Don't know about taking it off. . its pretty heavy and is bolted and screwd in some places. I may have to work outside, or just forget the manifold or wait untill the box comes off for winter. that would be about a month. But we'll see i will still bring it down frieday night.

By the way I'm happy to report my blue truck was up at holley dodge today for a oil change and transmission service and to have the fault codes rectified. I got a new injector pump and a new lift pump installed under warrenty. so that made me pretty happy. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Acutally i was thinking about that ( letting the Air out) it could work for about 4-5 inches proably.

Yea i've been spraying every bolt in that whole area with the stuff. . thanks mark

Guys,

Somebody here with a 2nd Gen is replacing injectors and has to swap out the fuel feed tubes. He mentioned a special tool to remove them, but I don't recall what you guys used when you did yours. Can you tell me what to use for that?

A small flathead screwdriver... they pop right out. (transfer tubes)

For the injectors, use the short intake horn bolt to pull the injectors, make sure you remove the tubes before pulling injectors. Also, install the injectors and then put the new tubes in.

Thanks. Knew you guys would know.

BTW, Mark,

There is a good thread on the Alt Fuels forum, from a guy using wvo in his 04 and an 05. Doing good, with just about daily updates. I am headed to the station to get some bio now. I know its not WVO, but its a start. Should have put 10gal in that night.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!! Haven't even made it to bed yet...

Woke up at 5am on Friday morning and here it is 12:30pm Saturday, haven't slept a wink...

That exhaust is pretty sweet sounding... I wonder how duals would look  :D

Coffee night = hang around with a bunch of other Dodge/Cummins diesel lovin' guys who sometimes "work" on someone else's truck in the presence of others who may not have done it before all while BSing about truck stuff, building houses, buying boats, cuttin' trees, etc. , while drinkin' coffee, or other beverage of choice and maybe sending someone out for pizza... . all at a place that Torque rents and is kind enough to let other crazy fools hang out there.

Whew! What did I miss??
