what year and engine. ive seen the oil pumps go bad in the 4cyl. might want to drop the pan and check out a main and rod bearing to see if its fixable

It's an 02 1. 8. My bet is the oil pump, the pick-up tube is either clogged, or the pump went out, or both. I read somewhere that this 1. 8 engine is prone to sludge build up. I use Amsoil european car formula so I wouldn't think that sludge is a factor, but you never know. I will know more tomorrow. This problem just occurred so I hope no damage was done. My biggest concern is the cam bearings.
