Whats it Worth?

Time to Trade Up on New Tractor

Diehard 1st Gen guy here with questions about vacuum pumps. Did Chrysler at some point implement a belt drive vacuum pump on the CTD's?

To settle an arguement, 2003-up will cover me? Just curious now... Was the Jacobs brake an option or std. equipment on the 3rd Gen trucks?

03 and up... ... ..... technically std trans only till 06 per Dodge and yes it was a dealer install only

Actually it could be purchased from the Dodge parts counter or could be a factory option on '06 or '07 Rams but was not installed at the factory. The exhaust brake was a line item on the dealer order invoice and the MSRP of my '06 but the factory put the carton containing the brake in the rear floor to be installed by the dealer or, in my case, my own mechanic.

When I purchased my 03' Dodge, Chrysler had a deal going which gave a person an option to purchase the "Jacobs" e-brake when ordering the truck, for $200. 00 "if you owned a business, and provided a business license number. " I had to wait for a couple of months before I received it, as they had to re-design the vacuum pump. When I received it, I also installed it myself. It has been vertually flawless too this point with some 80K PLUS miles on the truck.

My truck has the NV-5600 6-speed,, and the "Jacobs" e-brake was not available for the Automatics.
