I have a 1995 Ford F800 with the CTD 5. 9. The same engine as the one in my 1997 Dodge. I think the engine in the Ford has a little less power. Can I upgrade the power in the F800 by sliding the plate forward like I did in my Dodge? Do you think it will hurt anything? The F800 is a tree service truck with an aerial lift and it tows a 7500 pound chipper. It is definitely underpowered.

Well, before making any fueling changes to a motor, you should at least have an EGT gauge, so you dont melt stuff down whilst towing, etc. . Depending on which fuel injection pump has been installed on that motor, you may be able to slide the plate. . I`d take the plate out and grind some of the upper ridges down, if you get that gauge installed that is. .

good luck

ASubong,

I have a 98 F650 (same as your F800) with upgrades (look at sig. ). Your engine should be CPL# 1551 and all the Dodge Cummins upgrades work with this engine. I'm running 40lbs. boost getting 15MPG empty and 10MPG loaded. :D

Thanks for the replies. The injectors are leaking where they seat against the engine. Maybe I will replace them with bigger ones.
