costco purchase
Costco was a fantastic way to buy a vehicle in Las Vegas. This town is such a ripoff for cars that a lot of people go to Utah or Idaho to buy. In late 2000 I was looking for a used CTD but no one would let go so I looked out of state. I tried CA, UT, AZ and found some possibilities, but my trade in was the problem. I had a very nice baby Blazer that booked at 6k but everyone only offered 3k or less. A local STEALER (4 page letter to DC on that @#@$%@) actually tried to steal my trade in the paperwork. So I called Costco and got referred to their local Dodge dealer. I made the appointment for the next morning and explained to them that I was going to Salt Lake that afternoon to buy up there. Long story short(er) I bought my truck that morning, it took only 1 hour including the test drive. The Costco dealer gave me 6k for my trade no questions asked, the lot price on my truck was 38k but the Costco price was just over 33k. Their markup was $800 as quoted, and to make the deal work for me they even lowered that to $200.
Net answer, I would not hesitate to do it again. The dealers make so much business off Costco members that they will not do anything to screw it up. Costco checks to see if you were happy and if not (I was), the dealer hears about it. Go for it.
Still stock 01 HO 6spd.
