I'd say keep milking the kid. he'll pay for alot of parts for your truck.

Infact, tell to come up to Minneapolis and we'll pull for pink slips :)

With 30 bags of topsoil in the back you could have let him start pulling before you even Oo. started your engine and still walked him! NICE JOB!!!!!

I'd say that this adventure was the BEST I have ever read in my 8 years on the TDR!! :p

What a schmuck that kid must be!

I had a guy at my local Napa store that wanted to race his Furd 7. 3 against my '01. 5 with the mods I had put in. He kept egging me on until I said "Put a hundred on the hood or shut-up" He never ran against me... . He always had some lame excuse.

I have some very good news and some not so good news. The good news is I am $1,000 richer going towards a SB DD clutch and my buddy is $500 richer. Oo.

This morning I was at Home Depot loading 50 bags of top soil by myself into my truck when my buddy called. He said the kid want to tug right now because he can not do it tomorrow due to a gulf tourney or something up at some exclusive club in Lake Tahoe/Reno area. I told him to meet me at that road we agreed the other day in 30 minutes. Man I had sweat running down my forehead and my back was hurting from loading up 30 bags of top soil. #@$%! I told the lady at the store that I will be back for the other twenty later this afternoon.

Well I showed up and there his rich a** wearing a fancy Rolex with his new shiny Tundra Crew Max and two of his rich friends. My buddy managed to borrow a heavy strap about 12ft long. I switched the transfer case selector to 4L and made sure the transfer case engaged before I backed into his rear and my buddy did the hook up. The height of the hitch were about even.

Smarty SW #3. I shifted into 1st and we took up the slack. I stood on the brake rev it up to about 1K RPM, my buddy said “go” and he hit the gas. My truck did not go anywhere. It just moved about two inches. I could hear his engine begging for mercy. I slowly released the clutch till I felt it engaging a little then slowly releasing the brake and clutch till totally engaged and gassed up to 1,600 RPM (the footwork my budy and I practiced yesterday). I did not notice any movement of the vehicles since I was busy watching the RPM and other engine vitals and when I looked outside the truck I could tell I was moving forward and his truck was ever so slowly moving with me. I could not believe how easy it was to pull his truck. By this time his tires were smoking and engine revving to a very high RPM and was louder than my Cummins. I kept it at about 1,600 RPM till we were about 50 yards from were we started. I won round one without a sweat. :)

Since the agreement was the best of three tugs, I made him feel good by giving him the second pull knowing I can pull him all the way to San Francisco bay. The third pull I dragged him to the next street corner. My buddy came over shook both our hand, I shook his and my buddy gave me the $3K in cash. Drove home and unloaded the 30 bags of top soil and went back to Home Depot and got the other 20 bags. I will give my buddy's $1K back tonight. This was the easiest $1K I've made.

The bas news is my son is still in LA with both cameras as he was not scheduled to arrive till tomorrow morning... damn! Sorry no vids or pics this time... not my fault.

This kid just can't get enough and he said he wants a rematch after “I do some modification”. I'm not sure what kind of mods you can do with these engines but I told him maybe. I did offer him a ride to the Dodge dealer. :-laf

Shoot, let me put about 500 Lbs of sand in the back end of my '93 and I'd out pull any Toyota I know of.

Hook up my dually and 500 lbs of sand and I'll tow him backwards to Montana. :-laf

That’s exactly what I was thinking that’s why I let him have the second pull to plant a seed for the future pull. If you take everything, he thinks he don’t have a chance and wont' try it again. Now in the back of his head, he is thinking he can totaly beat me with some mods. I’m thinking double or nothing next time? SB DD clutch come to daddy and maybe an Aurora 300 after I kill him again on a rematch.

Ironically he has friend he hangs out with that drives a new Nissan Titan that thinks like he does. He was there today with his Titan and was eying my truck. I hope he makes a mistake like his friend and chanlenge me. We shall see. Thanks again for all you guys/gals comments and suggestions.

This guy obviously has more money than brains. Maybe he'll drop a cummins in it for next time. Of course that'll collapse the front suspension.

Share the "Toyota Tot"?

JBonpua

I've been thinking, I'm only a couple of hours from Sacramento, would you consider sharing the "Toyota Tot"... . I'd really like to fund a dual disc clutch myself! :)

IF he is dumb enough to keep challenging you maybe his transmission will blow up. Then he is up **** creek. And the New tundras have transmission problems too.

And you know somewhere out on some Tundra forum, the guy is asking what he can do to out pull a cummins! I would like to hear the responses!

Nice kill. I sure the kid is after a supercharge and some trany work, but still no match. Get that DD and Never worry again!!!

Do you suppose it has ever occured to the kid that IF his tires can't get traction, that no amount of horsepower or tire spinning is going to make it out pull anything?

guys ... guys ...

when the cummins showed up with a bed load of anything the guy should have called it off if he had a clue about anything ...

milk mr rolex for all he's worth

MickeyMiller,

This is my rare find, finder’s keepers. I’m sure there are plenty of these kinds of suckers around the Bay Area…I’m not sharing.

BLACK PEARL,

He did mention supercharger of some sort. Whith the money this punk has in his bank account, who knows he might put in a Cummins N14.

Sounds like fun. Be careful that you're not on the wrong end. Might be a setup. Probably not, but you never know. I don't think the truck can beat yours, but if he has experience that he didn't show? Glad I'm not the brave type!:-laf

If he had experience he didn't show then wouldn't he have showed up with a diesel? Diesel Power had that showdown between the 6. 4L and fords v10 and the diesel took the cake in every competition. Unless this kid highly modifies his truck and can somehow even come close to the tq#s of a Cummins he won't have a chance. Loading the bed just made it all that better to show how ignorant this kid is.

The only mod I can think of to help him out would be to fill the frame, bed and cab with lead till he outweighted you, then he might have a chance. But his truck would be crushed by the weight most likely, so no worries there... .
